Frequently Asked Questions

Auto Accident Care: Your Questions Answered

What Patients Ask Before Starting Accident Treatment with Us.

How soon after my accident should I be seen?
As soon as possible - ideally within the first few days. Many accident injuries don't show full symptoms for 24–72 hours, and early evaluation supports your recovery and ensures your care is properly documented. Even in a low-speed collision, whiplash and soft-tissue injuries often peak 24-72 hours after impact. Getting evaluated early supports your recovery and ensures your treatment is documented accurately from the start.
Do you work with attorneys?
Yes. We work with most personal injury attorneys in the area and coordinate records, billing and reporting directly with their office. We're familiar with the reporting, records and lien paperwork attorneys need, so your legal team gets what they need on time and you can focus on getting better rather than chasing documentation.
Will I have to pay out of pocket?
Depending on your coverage and case, many patients have no up-front cost. We confirm this before care begins. Depending on your policy, optional MedPay coverage may apply to accident-related medical care, and in some cases we work on an attorney lien. We verify your specific coverage up front so you know how your care is being billed.
What if the ER already cleared me?
The ER rules out fractures and emergencies. They don't treat whiplash, soft-tissue or joint injuries - which is what most accident patients actually deal with. Emergency departments are excellent at ruling out fractures, bleeds and life-threatening injuries. They're not designed to treat the whiplash, soft-tissue and joint injuries that make up the vast majority of accident cases - that's exactly the gap we fill.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed. You can book directly with any of our Carol Stream, St. Charles or West Dundee clinics. Illinois is a direct-access state, so you can start care with us the same week without waiting on paperwork from another provider. If you'd like your primary care doctor kept in the loop, we're happy to send updates on your progress.
Will you provide records for my attorney or insurance?
Yes. Comprehensive records, narrative reports and billing summaries are part of how we handle every accident case. Records, narrative reports and billing summaries are prepared in the format attorneys and adjusters actually use, and we respond to record requests quickly so your case doesn't stall.
