Frequently Asked Questions

Chiropractic Care: Your Questions Answered

What Patients Ask Before Booking Their First Adjustment with Us.

Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes. Chiropractic adjustments performed by a licensed chiropractor have a well-established safety record. Because we have medical providers on staff, anything outside the scope of chiropractic is caught early. Every new patient goes through a full medical intake and exam before their first adjustment, so any red flag - blood pressure, dizziness, unexplained weight loss, prior surgery - is identified and factored into your plan.
Does an adjustment hurt?
No. Most patients describe it as relieving. We tailor technique to your body and comfort level, gentle, low-force options are available if traditional adjustments aren't a fit. If you'd rather not be manually adjusted at all, we can build the entire plan around rehab, soft-tissue work and instrument-assisted techniques - the goal is your outcome, not any one technique.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on how long the issue has been there and what's causing it. After your exam we give you a clear recommendation up front, with a defined endpoint, no open-ended packages. We don't sell packages of pre-paid visits. You're re-evaluated at set milestones and, when you've hit your goals, transitioned to as-needed maintenance or discharged entirely.
Why does my pain keep coming back after past chiropractic?
Usually because the surrounding muscles never learned to support the correction. We pair every adjustment with rehab and medical oversight to support the correction between visits. Cracking-only care without rehab tends to feel great for a day or two, then relapse. Our integrated model addresses the joint, the surrounding muscles and the daily habits driving the problem, which is designed to help maintain improvements over time.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
Many patients can begin care without a referral. Referral and authorization requirements can vary by service and insurance plan, so our team will verify any applicable requirements before care begins. You can book directly with any of our Carol Stream, St. Charles or West Dundee clinics. Illinois is a direct-access state for chiropractic, so you can book directly without a physician referral. If you'd like your primary care doctor kept in the loop, we're happy to send progress notes.
Is chiropractic covered by insurance?
Yes, chiropractic is covered by most major PPO plans and Medicare. We'll verify your benefits before your first visit so you know exactly what's covered. Our billing team verifies your chiropractic benefits before your first visit - including annual visit limits and copays - and walks you through everything so there are no surprises.
