Does This Sound Like You?

A Medical Evaluation Is Often the Right Starting Point When Pain Has Lingered or the Diagnosis Isn't Clear.

  • You're Not Sure What's Actually Causing the Pain

  • Knee or Other Joint Pain That Keeps Flaring

  • You Have Imaging but No Plan

  • You've Been Bounced Between Offices

  • Chiropractic or Rehab Alone Hasn't Been Enough

  • You Want to Understand Your Options Before Surgery

How It Works

Evaluation, Then a Plan, Then Treatment

Treatment decisions follow the evaluation - not the other way around.

Step One

Evaluation

A medical provider evaluates your joint, muscle, neck or back complaint - history, hands-on exam and, when appropriate, diagnostic imaging is ordered or reviewed.

Step Two

Coordinated Treatment Plan

Findings are shared with our chiropractic and rehabilitation teams so one plan is built for you, rather than separate offices working in isolation.

Step Three

Appropriate Treatment Options

Together we determine which options are clinically appropriate for your individual condition, and adjust the plan as you are re-evaluated over time.

On-Site Medical Services

What Our Medical Providers Offer

Every option below is considered only when it is clinically appropriate for your individual condition, and always as part of your coordinated plan. Injection procedures are performed only by appropriately licensed medical providers when clinically indicated. Chiropractors do not perform injections at BodyWorks.

Musculoskeletal Evaluations

Evaluation of joint, muscle, neck and back complaints, including knee and other joint pain.

Diagnostic Imaging

Ordering and/or reviewing diagnostic imaging when it is appropriate and likely to inform your plan.

Trigger Point & Joint Injections

Trigger point and joint injections when clinically appropriate for your diagnosis. We do not offer steroid injections.

Tendon & Soft-Tissue Injections

Tendon and soft-tissue injections when clinically appropriate as part of your overall plan.

Ultrasound-Guided Procedures

Ultrasound guidance may be used for certain procedures when clinically appropriate to assist with visualization and needle placement.

Regenerative Joint Care

Regenerative joint care options may be discussed when they are appropriate for your condition and goals.

Bracing & DME

When medically necessary, our providers may evaluate for and prescribe appropriate bracing or durable medical equipment as part of the treatment plan.

Coordination & Referral

Coordination of care with our chiropractic and rehabilitation teams, plus referral for outside imaging or specialists when clinically indicated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Medical Provider Services: Your Questions Answered

What Patients Ask Before Booking a Medical Evaluation with Us.

What does a medical provider do at a chiropractic office?
Our medical providers evaluate musculoskeletal conditions - joint, muscle, neck and back complaints - and determine which treatment options are appropriate for your individual case. They also order or review imaging, manage bracing and DME needs, and coordinate directly with our chiropractic and rehabilitation teams so everyone is working from the same plan rather than treating in isolation.
Will I be offered an injection on my first visit?
Not automatically. The first visit is an evaluation. Injections such as trigger point, joint, or tendon and soft-tissue injections are only discussed when the exam and history suggest they're clinically appropriate, and only as one part of a broader plan that includes chiropractic and rehabilitation. We do not offer steroid injections.
Do you offer regenerative joint care?
Regenerative joint care may be discussed as an option when it's appropriate for your condition and goals. Whether it's a reasonable fit depends on your diagnosis, your exam findings and how you've responded to conservative care - your provider will explain what is and isn't known about the option for your specific situation before anything is scheduled.
Do I need imaging before I come in?
No. We start with an evaluation and order imaging only when it's likely to change your plan. If you already have x-rays or an MRI, bring them or the report along and your provider will review them with you. When advanced imaging is warranted, we coordinate it with local imaging centers.
Do I need a referral to see one of your medical providers?
Many patients can begin care without a referral. Referral and authorization requirements can vary by service and insurance plan, so our team will verify any applicable requirements before care begins. You can book directly at any of our Carol Stream, St. Charles or West Dundee clinics. If you'd like your primary care physician kept in the loop, we're happy to send progress notes and findings.
Is a medical evaluation covered by insurance?
Most major PPO plans and Medicare cover medical evaluations, though coverage and benefits vary by plan. Our billing team verifies your specific benefits up front - including deductible, copay and any limits on particular services - and reviews it with you before treatment begins.
